I agree. My kid plays for VIVA and we haven’t heard a word about this tournament from the club. It wasn’t promoted to us at all, which is so weird.
If you go to the VIVA main website there is literally a link to this tournament. Not sure how you all are saying it has nothing to do with your club. Not sure how the Herndon guy came to be the director, but VIVA is clearly involved in some way.

I was super eager to find out the time and location for my dc's team to play "TBD" or "The Potato's".

neither do the herndon parents.
there is a new club admin who has self-expanded his own job and took over all the decision making on lots of things this season, including large increases in team fees for fewer tournaments and deciding what tournaments every team would play in.
the same guy is also listed online as the "Director" of this Villareal tournament. He does not work for Villareal.
people are drawing conclusions.
Is there anyone with influence who can speak up about what is going on? We are new so don’t feel comfortable. And would it even matter? How is this person being given so much power to make decisions that are literally detrimental to the players? Are they trying to run the club into the ground? I really don’t understand and am really frustrated that this is all coming up after we signed on. Everything seemed normal until recently. I hope someone from the club is reading this and realizes they are not going to be viable if they keep on this path. No one is going to continue paying money to let a greedy person tank their kids’ soccer development.
You are new. Welcome to the area. Majority of clubs in this area are fueled by greed. This is nothing new. Very few clubs and coaches care about development. They care about lining their pockets with your money.
But am sure as a sign of resistance you have stopped dropping your hard earned money on a club so your 1st team kid can play rec right?
