This is true - rare from the WSJ editorial board. Survey response rates have plummeted since Covid.
A 40% response rate should be more than sufficient, unless the decline is due to some other bias. All sorts of government projections have become much worse since COVID, so the citation of that decline, without more, is just silly anti-Trump nonsense from the Never-Trumpers as the WSJ.
Imagine being a college graduate and thinking that change in response rate alone is persuasive. I know you don't need to be numerate to get a college degree, but really, that's just sad.

Good riddance.
??? Didn't Trump politically benefit from his inflated numbers over the summer? Then the numbers were downgraded once more data came in? You need to take another shot at your propaganda point I think. I appreciate you're all still working out the kinks on it, though.
That may be the case--I don't know. If so, the person is incompetent for a systemically broken methodology and I continue to say good riddance.
How do you not know? That's why Trump is incessantly whining right now and fired her. How are you opining on any of this if you don't know any of the facts?
Were you aware of the absurd pattern under Biden? I only know about it because it went on for so long that it was unavoidable. Trump hasn't been POTUS long enough for the same pattern to be revealed.
I don't know because I need a bigger sample. Unlike you, I am driven by the data, not politics. I am waiting to see if the pattern persists. I'll check back in once Trump has been in office for 18 months. Until then, it's premature.

If things don’t change very, very soon we’re effed. (Paul Krugmsm just wrote that he won’t see the wreckage from these 6 months repaired in his lifetime.)

Sad.
Agree. But there is hope. Germany recovered fairly quickly from Hitler who was in absolute power from 1933 to 1945. That's 12 years. Trump has only had "absolute power" since Jan. 20, 2025. He is out of office in Jan. '29 and there are a few GOP members of the House and Senate are finally showing some guts!
The Epstein scandal is not going away and is his doom.
Yes, but Germany in 1945 had suffered millions of deaths and massive destruction of its cities. There were very few Germans who would openly praise Hitler at the end of WWII. I hope that the US does not need to suffer the same level of destruction for the MAGA cult to turn away from its leader.
