I still find him hilarious. Different strokes for different folks. I guess CBS was too afraid of Trump to keep him on.

Most all celebrities and tv personalities are now. Everything went politically slanted around the late 2000s and went to crap.
Most people tuned out. That's why even Hollywood is struggling now, too much politics. Bleh!

If he had actually been mouthy, he would have gained viewers. He was completely uninteresting to Gen Z precisely because he wasn’t mouthy.
You cannot succeed on late night if the average age of your viewership starts at 60 or so and keeps going up as you stay on.
Psst...
Gen Z is not watching network TV.
Exactly the point. Gen Z doesn’t find network TV appealing. Therefore if you are an extremely expensive show, you need to work extra hard to draw in that audience. You cannot succeed if the average age of your audience is 65 and aging.
Colbert stopped being funny years ago, and made no effort to stay relevant to new audiences. He catered almost exclusively to an aging audience of older white people. That is simply not survivable in the current media market.

State media maga morons
Republicans need someone to tell them
How to breathe they are that stupid
Watching how Maga is playing out and how even Trump is insulting them now, makes it more clear to me how the whole Nazi propaganda went down. My entire life I’ve wondered how anybody could just let that happen but it’s playing out right in front of us.
Six months and destruction of our key institutions.
