According to MaxPreps, YT starts with Robinson, Chantilly, WSpringfield, Battlefield, Meridian. What does the board think they do against that group? 0-5?

Langley will still be a contender and South Lakes has lost strong seniors for multiple years now and still keeps coming back strong. I still have Battlefield as the forerunner and Cosby will be better than last year.

What about teams like Langley (4) who finished 1 spot ahead of Battlefield (5) and South Lakes who finished ranked 6? How are those programs looking this year? Langley beat both Battlefield 8-5 and South Lakes 13-12. While South Lakes has beaten Madison twice, Oakton twice, Robinson in the last 2 years. Crosby is another talented program on the rise.

Battlefield is a strong contender but as other have commented there are others out there too. I don't think anyone will be as dominate as Yorktown the last two years which opens the gate for a new state champion.

Madison has the same coaching staff and the younger players have been to the big game more than once. They are probably the favorite. I am sure there is an unexpected team who will gel at the right time and surprise everyone. Cosby doesn’t seem to have any big names, but might have enough experience to pull it off. Someone mentioned west Springfield. They have a group of seniors who are trying to make it a memorable year. I think battlefield has talent, but they are just too young.
