I love the confidence that MAGA has on all topics completely outside of their wheel house. Farming experts. Immunology experts. I can’t even tell you how many have told me (gov employee for most of my career in two branches) how the government runs having never been employed in government. Nice to see farming added to the list. I’m sure he’s driven by a farm at one point in his life so he knows farming.
Yep - those suburban MAGAs with the big pickup truck and the red MAGA trucker hat who think they can speak for farmers because they cosplay as rednecks. Meanwhile the bed of their pickup truck has nary a scuff on it and has never seen a lick of real work actually necessitating a pickup.

Why? Are customers at his golf resorts starting to complain about the lack of service?
Anonymous wrote:The reasonable thing to do would be to have a deadline where people either need to be here legally or out. Give work visas to farm workers, but eventually taper off of immigrant labor. It’s not reasonable to deport millions of people, but we do need to control the flow and not have illegal underpaid labor undercutting everyone else.
It IS reasonable to pay market wages to people doing farm labor. Illegal employment facilitates exploitation and pulls down wages.
We do need to go after employers who abuse this, but there needs to be time to adjust.
I’m ok if grocery prices go up because of this. They will go up as a percentage of our incomes, but other things can go down. The price of housing, for example, is artificially inflated and can go down. So can healthcare spending and every other thing that is artificially inflated.

We did - but it was just called immigration back then.
No, it was called American farmers. I know because my entire family is in the farming community and tired of being priced out by illegal labor.
Maybe in your little corner. But across most of America, farmers have been relying on foreign laborers for DECADES. I remember Mexican farm workers from when I was a kid and I'm now pushing 60. You definitely don't speak for most of the American ag industry. Even in the 1950s close to 30% of US farm workers were foreign migrants. That grew over time to be over 50% by 2000. It grew over time REGARDLESS of who was President or who controlled Congress.
Yet you dolts want to try and gaslight us and pretend this is some sudden new occurrence, in fact an "InVAsIOn!!!!" and it's all Joe Biden's fault.
All true and this is why Clinton, Bush, and Obama pushed Congress to pass immigration reform to suit the needs of modern America. We need foreign laborers to be able to come her legally with prior authorization. These are called work visas. The letting all the unvetted people in and then kicking them all out policies of Trump and Biden are chaotic, dangerous, and completely asinine.
We can discuss future immigration policies after the millions of people staying here illegally are removed. First we get a working border, then we reevaluate.
Tell me you’re not a business leader without telling me. That’s a great way to run one into the ground. Myopia is for the birds.
Yabut yabut yabut scary invasion of criminal rapist cat and dog eating illegals. It's wild that these stupid MAGA brain worms have embedded themselves so deeply in minds that these people would sooner starve to death than countenance the thought of a migrant picking their strawberries.
Huh? More like you liberals can’t imagine a country with actual enforced law where businesses can’t have underpaid illegal labor to pick strawberries but have to actually….pay a living wage and benefits to lawful workers.
You genuinely don't know WTF you're talking about and clearly know nothing about the farming sector.
DP. Where are they getting it wrong? Are all the farms overwhelmingly already paying living wages to legally present employees?
Golly gee. I learn something new every day.

Well according to MAGA both of them were too soft on immigration, so which is it?

You MAGA dumbasses are completely inconsistent and incoherent.
WE LIBERALS supported guys like Cesar Chavez, who organized American farm workers and tried getting them better wages. YOU called him a communist, a socialist, a terrorist. Incidentally, Chavez was very much anti-migrant labor, because he wanted Americans to be able to do those jobs for a fair wage.
WE LIBERALS have been calling for living wages for decades. YOU whined and moaned and called US communists and socialists and terrorists and accused us of being greedy thieves and retaliated against us by busting unions and threatening American workers with automation and offshoring and everything else.
YOU CONSERVATIVES have stood in the way of these things for decades. YOU have stood in the way of any kind of coherent policy for decades, whether living wages, immigration reform or even the border wall. It was YOUR side who, before Trump came along, didn't want a border wall, who wanted lax immigration controls and cheap migrant labor. https://theconversation.com/republicans-once-championed-immigration-in-the-us-why-has-the-partys-rhetoric-and-public-opinion-changed-so-dramatically-239836
And now you presume to come along and preach to us about stuff we've always supported, like living wages? Come on.
