No. They don't realize that because they want to grab your retirement savings. Sure, it may not be in "retirement" funds, but some people still plan on retiring without poverty and invest rather than spend on expensive trips, etc.
People used to save for their "old age." But, with Social Security (which was only intended as a safety net) they think they don't need to prepare for retirement.
