Absolutely. A Catholic can be Marxist. When you read the Gospels, do you think Jesus would be a supporter of greedy and exploitive politicians like Donald Trump? I don't think so. Christ's teachings do not align with the Republican Party at all. And I think the ideal of Marxism is much more Christian. Though, of course, it doesn't work in practice. But the idea of it is much more Christian than the greed and cruelty of Trumpism and the GOP.


Marxism is inherently and fundamentally atheistic and hence incompatible with Catholicism or indeed any religious faith.
