I know one family doing that this week.
Looking back at history, there were signs in Europe and many Germans did leave, particularly many with means. They look incredibly smart now. I wonder when they knew it was time to leave.
The problem I have is the immigration requirements. But there is talk from Europe, ironically, they may start allowing Americans in. The family I know has access to work visas in a European country, which makes it easy.
I’ve considered coverting a good bit of cash to a Swiss account held in francs.

Big sigh of relief.
DC is a major target for radical Islamic terrorism.

Would have been nice if you took a few homeless guys with you.

We aren’t feds and we’re currently employed, but I see the writing on the wall. I don’t imagine there is a good future for my kids in the USA, especially DC at this time. I recognize how privileged we are to be able to do this, and honestly I don’t want to move my family overseas but I think it’s for the best.
This is my boycott of the US. I’m absolutely disgusted by what’s happening and I don’t want my tax dollars to support it.

Fleeing DC isn't the right word. But there are definitely feds/contractors who lost their jobs unexpectedly and are moving to their location of choice now as they look for another job....it's harder to move for those who own homes and have kids in schools here, but I assume there will be a lot of turnover next year.
In my kid's 3rd grade class, I know of 7 fired parents already in a class of 25 kids. And these are just the ones I know of.
Sure it is
