The collective lack of curiosity about the victim could be another example of the misogyny we all swim in. The well-intended female teacher totally overlooking the female detective. The male DCI reframing Katie as Jamie’s bully, when she knew he was a POS creep pouncing when he thought she was “low” because her nudes were shared. It goes on forever without beginning and without end. If it wasn’t Katie, there would be another humiliated and degraded girl “pursued” by Jamie at 14, 15, 16. The name and the girl herself and everything her life could’ve been never matter in the hubbub.

I’m still on episode 1 - pretty well into the processing at the police station - and neither Jamie nor the parents have asked who was murdered. It’s this an issue later? It’s just so strange - they’re not at all curious who’s been killed?
