Pierre Poilievre thought he'd sail to victory running on being someone other than Trudeau. And he probably would have.
But most people --even the ones who were planning to vote for him-- think he's unintelligent, weak and unlikeable. They just hated Trudeau.
Now the number one issue is Trump and Canadians worry that PP would be in his pocket. Not to mention that he's been endorsed by Musk. Add to that the fact that Trudeau has resigned and is gaining support because he's able to speak out against Trump...and the Liberals have gone from potentially losing their party status to being back in the mix.
