Agreed. And it's prime real estate - maybe add a casino to the space.

Doesn’t the Nutcracker have a male character wearing a skirt? And I know the ballet production of Cinderella famously has men playing the ugly stepsisters and dancing on pointe. A reminder that federal money does not subsidize programming. So I’m thankful Trump is there to protect me from spending my money to see the Nutcracker and the ballet production of Cinderella, and in the process putting myself at risk of becoming trans?

Why is screwing around with the KC again? Where is he finding the time to micromanage 2200 shows a year? Or did I miss the part where he had already solved all of this country’s actual problems, like inflation., immigration, and the price of eggs? I guess those are the things President Musk is doing to free Trump up to run the KC?

Why is this excellent. Has the KC offended you? Do you even live here?

very over priced, the subscriptions get the best tickets.

So what do you want? The liberals paying for their theater tickets or the government subsidizing so that tickets are free?
There are actually lots of free events at the KC, paid for by donations

PP doesn’t want anyone to be able to enjoy any show unless she approves of the content and wants to see it herself. The thought of people deciding it’s worth the ticket price to see Riverdance drives her crazy.

hope they have success.

have not attended a Kennedy center show in 15 years.

I use local theater in NOVA.

too expensive.

I guess you and the uninformed person posting above you never bothered to check out the range of ticket prices — or the actual programs at the Kennedy Center. Or the FREE programs that they have almost every day (except perhaps Christmas) at the Millennium Stage. The Kennedy Center actually has had a long term commitment to free and low cost programs.

If ignorance is really bliss, some of y’all must be very happy.

yep throw some crumbs around for the poor, so they don't notice the shows.

Because it is always wonderful to watch the free bell ringing group from the Jesus Church in East Jesus perform while the denizens of DCUM are having their phones scanned for their $200 ticket to Mama Mia.

A ticket to see the traveling production of a Broadway show doesn’t cost more at the KC than any other venue. Or, are you saying that people who want to spend their money to see a show shouldn’t be able to?

I don’t think it’s a stretch to imagine him as guest conductor for a NSO performance of one his favorite works, for show.

YMCA? Pray tell, what is Trump’s favorite symphonic work? Favorite ballet? Favorite opera? Anyone, anyone? Bueller, Bueller? (PS, conductor is an actual job requiring extensive musical knowledge. Of which Trump has none).

Cool. There aren’t any drag shows in the kids programming. So WTF is he referring to?

Doesn’t want drag shows for child audiences. I know thats a tough one for some on this site.

Please identify said drag shows. Looking over the past year, all I see Ballet Trocodaro, which is widely praised around the world, has significant artistic value, and a great show. But, like the ballet, opera, symphony, etc series, kids are definitely not the target audience. And it is clear from description of the that it’s men on pointe— so maybe choose something else for the kids if men on pointe offends you.

Looking at the kids programming, I see zero drag. So, WHAT DRAG SHOWS FOR CHILD AUDIENCES? (Also, the federal government doesn’t fund programming, so why do you care what the donations and ticket sales from private citizens fund? First Amendment and all that).

DJT may perform his own drag shows

“ The footage from 16 years ago has surfaced of Giuliani dressed in drag during his tenure as mayor of New York City. He performed the skit with Donald Trump for a charity dinner where the real estate tycoon called Giuliani's character "really beautiful."
