Looks like the Israelis are grabbing some more land. Who knew Syria has oil and gas reserves. The Israelis new buffer zone will overlap the gas and oil reserves.

Israel has almost singlehandedly reworked the ME in a way that benefits the US.
Iran and its proxies have been dramatically weakened, Russia's bases in Syria (from which it projects influence throughout the region and into Africa) are in jeopardy, and both countries are now seen as unreliable and weak allies.
This all redounds massively to our benefit. And it's almost wholly the result of Israel's actions.
High cost in civilian lives? Absolutely, perhaps unacceptably so.
But let's not be dishonest about the results: the US is in a far better position than we were a year ago.
Spoken like someone who thinks life can only exist as a warped, real life version of RISK. Most likely because you’re one of the countless drones who rely on global conflict to feather your nest.
Back here in reality, the only upside of the “high cost in civilian lives” is the certainty that removing these boogeyman adversaries from the board will eventually remove all doubt as to the actual sources of evil across the globe …
All of these developments have created quite a conundrum for Israel - seize the opportunity to eliminate boogeymen from the safety of F-35s high in the sky (yay!), but then who are we left to blame for our sustained malignant conduct in the region (ruh roh)?
Huh.
You seem upset that Russia and Iran have lost influence and ability to project force across the ME (and beyond, in Russia's case). Strange.
how are the hip progressives with Ukrainian flags in their yards going to know which side they are supposed to support?? Is Israel good or bad for upending Russian influence in the ME??

Hardly. The only detail that has me “upset” is the fact that we (the U.S.) persist in promulgating foreign policy that never seems to actually improve global welfare on the ground.

We're doing pretty well by most objective measurements.
Check out global life expectancy or global per cap income 1945 vs today.
Astonishing progress in "improving global welfare", much of which is attributable (indirectly and/or directly) to the US.
And from the perspective of US national interest, our foreign policy has helped create truly remarkable (perhaps unprecedented in modern history) prosperity and security for the US.
So, yeah, we're far from perfect, but our FP has been wildly successful by any reasonable measure.

Probably because this is the third country Israel has invaded just this year. Its funny how we had to stop Putin before he could invade any more countries, but we literally have Bibi working on his third country while everyone claps and sends him money.
is this what you actually believe happened in Syria?
Its all over the news, are you trying to insinuate in some completely dishonest way that Israel has stayed on its side of the border?

Has Turkey stayed on its side of the border?
And are you under the impression that Israel toppled Assad? Would that be good or bad in your book?
I see you are playing the Zionist's standard deflection game. Look at anything else but what you are doing.
There is a chance Turkey will eventually leave/negotiate away that territory, but there is no chance Israel will ever leave. It will get the same treatment as the Golan heights, occupied then annexed.
Both countries should be subject to the same sanctions Russia got for Ukraine, but we know that's not how the "Rules Based Order" actually operates. Territorial integrity is only paramount when convenient.
Hardening security in a demilitarized buffer when the neighboring government has collapsed is hardly the kind of nefarious plot you’re suggesting. any nation would have done the same.
