Wow Principal Gregory Miller is really downplaying this , saying they might get an infraction for beating the child wtf
Why do the rules not apply to the schools? If you are walking down the street and a couple of people come up to you and start hitting you, beating you up, kicking you in the head it’s not a fight. It’s assault.
The schools and principles and media keep minimizing this as a fight. I said it up thread, these kids need to be expelled, and some of them need to be sent to Juvie.

I know the first thought is to blame the principal, but don’t go that route.
Often the principal’s hands are tied. There is pressure from Central Office and MCPS as a whole to not kick kids with behavior problems out of schools.
Also, where do you want the kids to go?? They need to go to school somewhere. Whitman is as good a place as any.
How about one of these places:

Nearly all, if not all.
I meant how many kids are in that group home program—20 or 200 or what? (As opposed to teens that are actually living at the Greentrre shelter, which I think is a totally different situation—I think those are kids/teens living with their moms who have fled an unsafe living situation like abuse. It seems like they are not the problem—it’s the group home teens who were placed there as ann out-placement from juvenile justice involvement.).

And, because there are no consequences, it wont stop (because consequences leads to higher number of consequences for black and brown students, and we can't have that, so Iinstead, no consequences for anyone).
It’s not happening at private or Catholic schools.
Yes, it is, its kept more hidden.
No, nothing at this level.
