No because we’re doing fine fiscally although there will be some pain due to loss of funding & revenues in the future. But nothing like the financial chaos that preceded the control board.
If the issue is criminal justice, then a package of legislative reforms (including speeding up confirmation of judges) would be welcome but the Trumpers have no actual interest in thinking through complex issues and making change.

Have some self-respect.
One-party rule doesn't mean anything. "Democrat" isn't a monolith—there are ten different posters on here who have professed to be Democrats who disagree with the Council/mayor on various policies. I am a Democrat who disagrees with the Council and the Mayor on various policies! Go out and promote the policies you like. Get like-minded candidates elected. The much maligned Charles Allen ran unopposed in his last election! Run for office! You can change it all tomorrow, friends. That's the democratic process. And if a majority of your neighbors disagree with you? That's the democratic process too. But for federal officials—elected by people all over the country EXCEPT those in DC—to step in and subvert the will of the people on local matters—that is tyranny, and no patriotic American could tolerate it. You don't have any say in the local governance of the people of Tennessee, or Maine, or Texas, or California, but you are happy to let their elected officials govern you? That's Parliament and the Colonies. Patrick Henry would be embarrassed to know you.
I am embarrassed but I'm also embarrassed by our Council and cannot defend them. The chips are going to fall where they fall.

Such whiners in the District. If you actually cared about self-rule, you 1) wouldn't have moved to a federal district established in the 18th century, and b) wouldn't support the federal takeover of state responsibilities that was engineered by multiple Democratic presidents (FDR; LBJ; Obama, etc.)
Move and support the reform of the federal government.

The city council has proven they can’t tackle crime. Progressive criminal justice is an abject failure. The housing voucher program is a disaster where people take advantage of not paying their rent for years at the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars in loses. I am a liberal who lives in dc. I can’t believe Trump won. But if there is one slight hope it’s that he cleans the city up and cracks the fk down on car jackers.
So you liked what you saw for the first four years of the Trump dynasty? And you think this buffoon can fix crime in DC?
I like that Trump might crack down on violent crime for WHOEVER commits it. I’m sorry progressives seem to tie themselves into little worry pretzels over it. You can have safe neighborhoods, where violent criminals are taken off the streets and away from others, or you can have the status quo where police cannot carry out difficult duties, judges refuse to look at evidence and prosecute, and where if you’re under 25 years old you get a slap on the wrist. I live in the middle of the city and I have seen everything. I have seen wild sht. I’m tired of it and I don’t give a fk.
