The counterintuitive waitlist + merit thing that Case does is only rational if it’s for yield protection. So either they yield protect or they’re just irrational. And all the good things I hear about Case makes me think it’s the former.


You’re rationalizing it to fit your predetermined theory. The admissions process is opaque and we can never know why they admit one kid and not another seemingly more qualified kid.

If your student wants research internships or health care shadowing hours, CWRU is the school to get that from year one.

I always wonder if anyone ever actually goes to Pitt or MN. They're always touted as the rolling safeties that reassure people while they apply to "better" schools, but I never hear about anyone actually going there.


I actually know a couple of kids who ended up there. Toured it thinking meh safety, and then fell in love with it.
