Just anecdotal experience form a 38 year old man. I’ve slept with enough women in the last 20 years that it’s a decent sample size but every woman I’ve been with has at a minimum shaved it all off or had a small landing strip. This was true in my 20s and now. I have a girlfriend of almost a year but the few years before that the woman I’ve dated ranged anywhere from 28-37 and a couple had full Brazilians but everyone was at least shaved 90% of the way.

I dated for awhile after being widowed, eventually decided f it, no comparison to my spouse. One guy didn't like my gray pubes and wanted it shaved. F him. Plus he had a tiny penis.

I am countering that no, not everyone is hairless, nor is it viewed as the right way to look. And having pubic hair is not an older person’s thing.

Just want to mention another option, maybe better for those with long term partners.

Shaving doesn't work for me and I'll never get a Brazilian. A couple years ago I decided to try Nair Body Cream Hair Remover. Hadn't tried Nair since the 80s, when I remember it not working all that well on legs.

It works about 90%, much better than 40 years ago. But if you like the smoother feel of less hair, this is a great alternative if shaving leaves you with bumps. I use a cheap textured washcloth to wipe off in the shower after 10 minutes. Don't go much longer.

It does have an odor but by the next day, it's all good.

I don't care about every last hair, and neither does DH. I might feel a little bit funny if I were dating at not being all, none, or perfectly tidy, but I pray I never have to date ever again!

Also, I prefer boy shorts over bikinis, so it's fine to not be perfectly bare..
