You seem really, really focused on the idea that people who are justifiably concerned are "fear mongering." The questions in this thread have been pretty reasonable. Asking if it happened near a bus stop is pretty reasonable. Not everything is a conspiracy. People have a right to be concerned.

Westfield is not one of the sought after FCPS high schools to begin with. Way more kids transfer out of it. It has a pretty big percentage of poor kids from Herndon and the Stone area.
LOL This is not true but keep spreading your Fairfax parent BS.
Which part isn't true? Way more transfers out of Westfield then in.
Lots of poor kids from the London Towne area, the Coates area, and the aforementioned Meadows trailer park.

The suspect is in custody. He being charged with Second Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and Distribution of Cocaine.
Sounds like what I said - drug deal.

I am relieved to hear the shooter has been caught and no longer at large. What I would still like to know is whether the shooting occurred with the 14 year olds walking home from a bus stop?
I don’t think so. There is no FCPS bus stop near a freaking hotel.

Spring break related for sure.
Wanted to add: no one is keeping their kids home over a drug deal gone wrong that didn’t even occur on school grounds.
Where did you read it was a drug deal gone wrong? Just curious as I haven't seen that reported.
I didn’t. I put two and two together based on the article though. It said something about cocaine distribution in regards to the shooter.
That was unrelated though, a different incident. You are casting baseless aspersions on a dead teenager.

But sending a generic email about a child's death and then the next day having the school swarming with police and pulling kids out of class all day, with no other information shared, I don't agree with that. They should let the community know that a child was shot by another teenager/former student, that the police are in the building investigating and speaking with students, and that the murderer has still not been arrested.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:The school has not shared ANY information, it is surprising.
My Westfield kid showed up today and there were police and school security everywhere this morning. He thought they were there to investigate yesterday's trashcan fire (IYKYK). The morning announcements said something like, "Sadly, a student has passed away. If you want to talk to a counselor..." that's it, that's all they were told.
This is the problem. WHS and many other FCPS schools handle things poorly. Everything seems brushed over and hidden. Parents care about their kids and yes crazy as it may seem they want to know their child is safe. They want to know what is being put in place when their kids go to school. WE have no answers and a lot of questions. It's not a political statement it's a parent feeling and natural instinct to protect their kids.
Curious. What information do you think should have been shared? What if the victim was your child -- do you think the school should disclose their identity, manner of death without your permission to the entire student body and their families?
