His roommates provided some insight. They said he had problems with alcohol and substance abuse. They also mentioned he was upset about an ex girlfriend. His problems were probably worse than anyone in his family knew about. It really isn’t fair to try and blame Kody and Robin. Kody could have been more involved but there is no reason to think that he would have been more aware of the seriousness of Garrison’s depression since he was able to hid some of his problems from his mom and siblings.
According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Janelle, 54, reportedly told officers that Garrison, 25, texted a group of people that the Brown family works with — presumably on their TLC reality show — ominously, writing: “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days.”
Kody was completely estranged from Garrison. They had no relationship and haven’t spoken for at least 2 years.

Sister Wives’ Star Kody Brown Says His Adult Kids Are ‘Jerks’ Amid Estrangement
Sister Wives patriarch Kody Brown had some harsh words for his estranged adult kids in the latest episode of the TLC show, revealing that he doesn’t want to be around them or speak to them at all.
“All of you are just kind of jerks,” Kody, 54, said of his older children during a heated discussion about the family’s dynamic in the Sunday, October 15, episode.

Meanwhile, Gwendlyn, 21, another child of Christine and Kody, opened up about her strained relationship with her father in a December 2022 YouTube video.
“As people I think that we’re all typically ignorant to our mistakes and when we’ve hurt our loved ones, especially our loved ones. We’re pretty unlikely to admit when we’ve done wrong,” she said, admitting that Kody had not been “actively reaching out” to his children
Amid the tension of the October 15 episode of Sister Wives, however, Gwen’s feelings of neglect from her father were clear as she said, “Imagine your dad loving you.”
So Kody didn’t speak to his children and made them feel as if he didn’t love them.
One of the storylines of seasons 16 of Sister Wives centered around Kody’s feud with Gabe and Garrison over his strict COVID-19 rules, leading to a non-existent relationship between the Las Vegas resident and his sons. “[We’re] not good. Not talking,” Kody said of them during the season 16 tell-all that aired in February 2022. “It’s like one of those relationships where we’ve gotta do a lot of work.”
But Kody did zero work. Imagine your dad loving you.
Are you blaming Kody?????
DP. 100% yes.

I don't see that as blaming Kody, but he certainly plays a part. I'm sure there were a number of factors that contributed to Garrison's decision.

So many of the families have been terribly hurt by TLC exploiting the families in order to build up ratings. They emphasize conflicts and film the conflicts then the reactions of multiple family members to the conflicts. Intrusively filming minor who can’t give informed consent should be illegal.
I'm sorry TLC did not exploit any of them. They all signed contracts and then people watched over and over again.
The Duggars are you kidding? That pack of crap who Mike Huckabee and Sarah Sanders love?????? Republcians sure do love their pedos.

I am the one you’re quoting and I agree. I didn’t say he didn’t have the duty to end the estrangement. He does. Just saying I hope this is what spurs him.

I won’t say Kody and Robyn deserved this, but they played a huge part in it.
People who say that someone “deserved” a family member to die by suicide are still focused on the wrong thing. If your son dies from suicide- he’s the victim. He’s not killing himself to get back at anyone or punish anyone.
Kody and Robyn didn’t even talk to Garrison when he was alive, how are they affected by his death? He wasn’t a part of their lives and will continue to not be a part of their lives. They didn’t have anything to do with Garrison. They won’t notice a difference.
Bingo. I do think this will cement his non relationship with his other kids now. He wasn't speaking to most of them before this. No chance they will now.
