How did McLean "use" SYC? They made themselves into a pipeline to ECNL. How else was that going to go?

Anyways looks like Arlington and Loudoun 2012G are both stronger than SYC. It would make more sense for strong players to look for a spot in Arlington. The same would go for strong Alexandria players.

SYC was banking on pulling some Alexandria players seeing as the 2012s got handled by them in the fall. That may not be happening though. They complained about MCLean using them for their developed girls but are hard recruiting for their GA teams now.

I believe they won Jeff Cup last year

I wouldn’t say whoop any team on East Coast. SYC 2012G has not been that strong this past year, again losses to many Pre-ECNL teams. Did you win WAGS, Jeff Cup or just random EDP tournaments? You haven’t really played any top competition and have lost to other top teams around this area. Can’t wait to see you all as the best team around. BRAVE all the way baby!!

I think you are upset that this is a bad look for ECNL. That fact that you are even worried/talking about GA shows how insecure you are.

We know this is a pro ECNL board. It seems some of you are worried SYC now has GA. We can’t judge SYC girls program now, let’s give them a few years. Their boys program is the best one in the DMV at u9-19 hands down, they have swept almost all the local clubs on the boys side. They just swept FC Delco mls next program today. In a few years SYC girls program will be a top program in the area because is developing players and with GA they will be able to keep their girls as well. Their entire 2012 girls are staying and trust SYC.

I just enjoy all the ECNL parents trashing everyone who is not an ECNL player or club.

Why would you go to a startup GA team over ECNL including a BRAVE. SYC has a good group but they haven’t been as strong last year and no way they retain all of their girls. Lost to Arlington and Loudoun Pre-ECNL teams and I believe Bethesda over the last year.

McLean 2012 has some really strong girls at the top of the team, and some really weak girls at the bottom. They are definitely not balanced and will have to shed some girls, but if you fill in with girls from other teams (Vienna, GFR, Alexandria and yes some SYC girls because not all are staying), they will be very strong. And the brand is still strong. That plus the fact that ECNL will still be better than GA any day of the week, and it doesn’t really seem like a close call.

I appreciate that there are varying levels of talent, but I think people forget that not every parent is willing to drive all over creation for soccer.

This will all partly play out based on geography and freaking traffic.
