This is the second time APS has cancelled things that are important to people for no reason. School plays, science fairs, sports, cultural schools, etc are all not happening because someone made a lazy call way ahead of time. Arlington County and FCPS both called delays so it’s not like they have any cover by following the herd. Not sure why you think this is no big deal.
I'm not saying I agree with it, just that your reaction is way out of proportion. Get some perspective. Take a deep breath. You can find something else to do today. Life will go on I promise.

Well. I had suspected this was a tantrum from APE who are irrationally triggered by one Saturday closure. One day. You just confirmed it through your odd and completely unrelated rant about masking.

I have the guy a lot of grace considering how his term started, but it’s becoming clear that Duran is not good at managing people and just lets people do whatever they want. APS has been failing in a number of very basic areas (HR, facilities management, contracting for new eqmt, etc) for a few years now.

Actually seriously do not do this it's terrible for the grass and some of these sledding hills double as fields at the top or bottom.

Today they should have done what the parks department did- close until 10am (or even noon). If we ended up with a ton of snow then cancel for the day.

Last month our district cancelled Saturday events on Friday night. No snow to speak off. And senior nights cancelled with no rescheduling. It was infuriating and sad.
