I know a ton of boys left both the Loudon and Springfield teams last year for other clubs and have heard it’s not any better this year.

Springfield teams go to Loudon for games or George Mason as they have no fields with all the Fairfax, Alexandria fields.

It’s sad and hopefully they are transparent of plans early on for athletes in case they just bury all programs and none of the kids who stick around have a place to land.

Speaking from someone who has played against those FCV boys team. Can all of you imagine if all the boys that left those Barca academy/FCV boys team didn’t leave? That boys program would be bigger and MLS next would be more realistic in their future. For now I agree I don’t see it happening. Right?

lmao. An academy not attached to a team is a joke unless it's IMG

+1. Their “semi-pro” team is UPSL. There are a bunch of UPSL teams around that are mainly in place for U19/U23 player development, but VRSC sells their’s as ‘Pro’. If they were in USL 1 or 2, that might make sense, but not for UPSL.

Expanding into new territory always has growing pains, especially when the market is heavily dominated by one club.

Marvin and Christian used to be with each other at FCV. I assume their relationship was always fine even after Marvin moved over to VRSC. Now Christian and him are together again. Whatever is going on I hope it’s in the best interest of FCV and VRSC and all of the players/families. I hate to see any negativity towards anyone that doesn’t deserve it.

What they've done well is they are well funded. They are making big investments. Only time will tell if any of these pay off

I don't think it's necessarily GA wanting them. It's possibly the clubs wanting in, the question is, knowing how poorly performing and new VRSC is, would they even have a shot?

SYC, if the rumor is true about pulling out of the VA Union deal, could be strong enough to compete.

Going with 95% money, 5% a unique opportunity to start fresh. Revolution needs someone like CC, cause right now they're just fumbling around.

3. $$$$$

It’s the one thing that Revolution can (and would gladly) offer him. He will be key to their club getting access to better leagues which is, in the long run, going to be very important for keeping the money flowing.

This is last year at Evergreen.

No fields have been secured for next season at this point.

Hanson Park will not be available for FCV but I'm not going to comment on why.

Bles Park will be beginning construction soon and will not be available for next season.

Western Fairfax is the most likely outcome.

BP has offers from other clubs but has also had offers in the past from ECNL clubs. Nobody knows what he is really going to do.

MP will not be a TD or full time coach.

At least two other FCV coaches are likely to follow CC to VRSC.

CC has told multiple parents he believes VRSC will have GA next year.

STJ makes money on non-GA teams but is losing money with the GA teams.

STJ ownership are not on the same page and lack communication with STJ Sports Management.

Many players and families are considering a move accross multiple age groups if no announcements made by February to clear up this mess.

As for us, we have been very happy with our years at FCV. BP has been extremely organized and we have never had to worry about fields, schedule, etc. DD has developed under FCV greatly. We will stay at FCV if BP commits to next season and another quality TD is brought in to replace CC.

We will leave if BP does not make an announcement by Feb. 1st of some type for next season. There is no point in staying when the draw to FCV is college placement headed by BP and former CC.

Honestly, despite all the hate FCV gets, we are really disappointed about what is happening. Words can't exactly tell you by how much. Our understanding is the STJ Ownership is the biggest problem right now. I don't think they really care about the FCV program.

Yes, NVA will benfit some from this disaster but mostly at next years 06/07 team. Not many people feel good about the coaching there at other age groups. Many parents also do not consider Union due to politics and favoritism. VDA will probably be the biggest benefactor of all of this. Brave will probably get the players who don't make VDA or Loudoun top squad.

Bottom line is, if BP leaves, FCV will lose the majority of it's top players. I don't see STJ investing heavily in new directors or coaching based on what I know.

Good luck to everyone in the same boat as us.

Thank you for an actual answer. My daughter played for FCV many years ago and its sad to see what is happening at the club. Just a warning about Loudoun ECNL and RL, their rosters are huge and getting bigger. With the new NVA "merge" of 3 teams it made the rosters enormous. If your kids isn't a favorite they won't step foot on the field.

Best of luck. I really hope BP can pull a rabbit out of his hat to save the club. Best training in the area on the girls side by far.

Not all FCV parents are big fans of BP. There are plenty who are more inclined to follow CC than BP. The result will more likely be a splitting of FCV's players between where BP and CC end up. This just sucks for players who have been with FCV for a long time

Are you saying FCV players will follow CC to VAR?

I would be if they could get a GA program at VRSC it would be a no brainer to move. Especially if they keep the teams together.

The problem with this line of reasoning is that CC is not going to Revolution to coach. Is switching clubs for GA worth not having CC as the coach?

FCV parent for many years here. I SERIOUSLY question the notion that CC is going over to VAR to sit behind a desk. Guy has probably never even logged in to his email server at FCV. It was always our understanding that BP did/does all of the admin type work.

CC is going to coach on Boys side, not girls. On top of that CC has two young children including a son.

Ok, so if that is true, it still does not make sense for GA teams to follow CC over if he isn't coaching girls.

If he doesn't coach girls what difference would it make if Revolution gets GA or not?

Are you suggesting that CC is going to Revolution for a demotion to just coaching then? How many coaches generally get added mid season vs at the end of the season?

He is either leaving FCV for one of the following reasons:
1. A unique opportunity/promotion
2. Something bad is going on at TSJ and he wants out.

Also, both could be true.

What’s he going to do then? Revolution already has a TD (granted, he’s awful).

TD for the new aspiring academy programs (GA/MLS Next). Current TD can continue doing what he does today
