I was in this exact situation and I did leave baby in the car. I did take my key with me (proximity key) and locked the doors so heat/AC stayed running but the car itself would not have gone anywhere without the keys (so no real danger of a random carjacking in my suburb). All was fine!

Well, the village stops at your door. People, women with children in particular, are guilty of taking a mile when you give an unch.

Agreed. And leave the windows down unless it’s raining.

I’ve done this countless times. As the parent of an only that had already dropped off. If the weather is crappy and we’re parked near one another I’ll wait in my car. But I’ve got you fellow drop off parent!

I would personally not leave the baby in a running car. For a trip under a minute in full view, I’d turn off the car and leave a door slightly open. Or a window, but bees love my car due to snack debris.

This. Never leave your kids alone in a car. My kids are all elementary, oldest is 10yo and and I still don’t leave him in the car even when I’m running a quick errand just out of habit. My DCs have started complaining though!

This does not make you the great parent you seem to think. Infantilizing a 10 year old is not good for either of you.

Being an online bully or thinking, you’re some kind of wit isn’t a good look.
