Damn, are there other movies about CHILD SEX TRAFFICKING that are being hyped up as super important on this site?

Why are profits more important to you than saving children, if this movie is so super duper important?

As for me, I go to watch movies for entertainment, and I don't take that on as an identity. I do, however, work with an at-risk population as a medical provider, screen and identify children for abuse of all kinds (including sexual), and provide both medical care and court testimony when indicated. I also send part of my money to groups like THORN. That's why I go to movies, though. Escape.

What do you do to help actual children in terrible situations?

A large portion of the $100 mill is from the crowd funding (aka grifting) at the end of the movie.

I'd love to see that money go back into fighting child trafficking, but unfortunately it won't.

And the $100 million is hilariously inflated by mega churches and right wing organizations buying out the theaters (with next to nobody actually attending the movie, even for free) and thousands of dim bulbs who bought into their “pay it forward” campaign and paid for yet more tickets to be given away for free, which nobody used.

It implicates in LDS apostles, wealthy Utah business leaders and Utah politicians in corruption and ulterior motives. Reminds me of the old Scientology trick of buying up L Ron Hubbard books to drive up sales numbers and make them "blockbusters." Unfortunately, they forgot to remove the stickers that were already on them when they resupplied the bookstores with the same copies.

It's a churning game. Drive up the numbers and then trumpet them. Sad.

Yes, I've heard of theaters reporting that tickets were being bought online in huge blocs by church groups. But then it seems the tickets aren't being distributed or there isn't enough interest within the church groups because the "sold-out" showings are often far below capacity.
