The city has shown that it cannot manage crime around low income housing - gang shootings, drug sales and other serious crimes are always clustered around that. Like well over 90% of the city’s serious crimes are either in the vicinity of the housing or come from gangs based around the area.

Why would a real estate expert move across the street from an aging community center if he wanted certainty around the future of his little section of the neighborhood?

The quotes from him are too extreme to make sense. It's like he's trying to generate potential NIMBY clients who are selling or buying.

In a majority luxury market-rate building co-located with a community center? Doubtful. And they will still have to pay the subsidized rent to live there.
