There isn’t an astonishing amount of special needs present in children in the DMV.
Also anecdotal but the kid I know with the most special needs was born when his mother was 29.

Traveling in your youth is different than when you are old. We will have both experiences. And those memories and time we had pre-kids made us never feel like we missed out. Dual income, no kids for 7 years also padded our portfolio tremendously.
I saw something on Twitter that I think about a lot, something to the effect of: “each year you wait to have children so that you’re ready is one fewer year of your life you’ll spend with your children and potential grandchildren”. We had kids at 29, 31 and 35. We’re 41 now and firmly out of the toddler/kinder cycle. Having traveled as much as you and having experienced professional success, given the choice of (a) travel, festivals, nightclubs and money and (b) five more years in my children’s (and God-willing Grandchildren’s) lives, I’d take the latter every single time without hesitation. Your preferences are likely different.
My wife wanted to have our first at 27 to give us a shot at more kids. If I could build a Time Machine, I’d go back and listen to her.

A good friend did this as well. She just lost her second baby at birth and will never carry a baby again. I don't know if that would have been the outcome if they had kids earlier, but these stories don't always have a happy ending.
I love this. Pp got married before 30 but happened to have a baby post-30.! And you just miraculously have a friend who did the same exact thing!!!
