If what she is saying is true, I can understand being upset and not agreeing, but how about we educate and explain how that behavior makes you feel? Since she hasn’t seen him since he was 12 I’m more inclined to think he said something that she deemed hateful and/or violent and used that as an excuse to alienate him from her life. Toxic family members are a real thing and I absolutely understand cutting them off (I’ve had to do it) but teenagers are immature and don’t understand consequences of their words. Hopefully when they all grow up (and Kate is in a nursing home) they’ll all see how ridiculous this is and reconnect.
She explicitly stated that he has physically threatened her or someone in her family as recently as this last year. This isn't from when he was 12.
I don't know why people are having such a hard time accepting that in a family with two dysfunctional parents and kids raised on television in an exploitative environment from essentially birth, there can be more than one person behaving badly.
Kate had Collin committed, and 1) didn't tell his dad, and 2) rarely or barely visited him. Those two data points are horrific. It doesn't mean that she had *no reason* to commit him other than she's picking on him. Now you have another kid in the family getting death threats for 'not taking Collin's side,' and when she details his terrible behavior you jump to "she's nothing but an extension of Kate" instead of hearing what is being said. I get why people don't like Kate Gosselin - she's not a sympathetic figure. But you are writing off every piece of evidence that doesn't align with your preconceived notion of "Kate Monster, Jon good, Collin victim, all other kids puppets" and it's really dumb.

and she is crazy like Jon said.

Eventually as that escalates between the kid and parent, it could get to a place where she could convince an institution to take him. Maybe she got some of the kids to make statements. No matter what, it’s not ok to give up and turn your back on a tween — especially when you know you had something to do with how he got to that place.
Are you saying parents cause mental illness? You really don't have all the facts you think you do.

This makes sense. I just think where there's smoke there's fire. It can't be easy to institutionalize a kid just because you don't like him as much as his siblings or he resembles your ex. There has to be something more going on that due to privacy concerns we don't know much about. But Mady has had enough of it.
What crazy world do you live on were it’s ok for a mother to institutionalize a an 11 year old for two years and then NEVER visit him or see him not allow siblings to call, visit him or send letters to him. Then when your kid gets out never contact him and when he is in a car crash and in the hospital never contact him.
What crazy world are you in that you think you know all the interactions of this family lol? She did visit him. As soon as people use words like NEVER, it's not worth listening.
