I have never figured out what she has to offer. Because she doesn't have what it takes, it makes lots of women look bad.
I find her to be just infuriating. I want to hear what she has to say but she sounds like an idiot, and I don't sense she cares about these kids (her treatment of them during Covid was enough for me) and her inability to communicate effectively is humiliating for an adult in her position.

I'm guessing the reason why no one DCUM is talking about it is because it fell flat?
For me, just as with the antiracist audit report, I heard a lot of talk and fluff but I can't figure out for the life of me what action she and/or MCPS are actually proposing. You say we need to do better, how will you make people do better? Training is a pathetic response to that question, in my opinion.
That speech was so inspiring, and McKnight is a fantastic role model for our kids. We are so lucky to have such a great leader!

What has she done to inspire you and be a role model?
She's an inspiration because she's a role model.

Anonymous wrote:McKnight is a politician. Just a lot of noise and no action. Until they stop wasting money on ridiculous programs and actually fix schools, address overcrowding, and the current teacher shortage- none of it actually matters. Many administrators don’t respect her and some of the top people have left. It’s only getting worse before it gets better.

Sure, a role model. Nope. Inspiring. Nope. A role model takes action. Inspiring is actually addressing concerns and doing your best to fix them. Academic performance is atrocious. A great leader works to fix it, and not do things like take away tutoring.Anonymous wrote:No one has bothered to post or discuss the grandiose speech Dr. McKnight that teased and promoted through multiple MCPS communication blasts:

The statistics she cited indicated about 1 hate or bias incident a day in MCPS. Not acceptable but hardly surprising given a system with 150k immature children and adolescents. MoCo is one of the most left and tolerant counties in the country. Most people want to focus on other issues not political posturing.
She could cut that number in half if she just desegregated the W's where most of those incidents seem to occur.
+10000 If she truly wants fewer racist incidents, she should desegregate Ws and BCC. Have magnet arts programs at those schools.
How would *de*segregation decrease racist incidents? Segregation reduces racist incidents by separating perps from victims. Segregation has other problems, of course.
And there's the MAGA White Nationalist!

The schools with the highest incidents are segregated. Creating greater diversity at these places will also instill greater empathy and reduce these problems.
