I’m underwhelmed by this season. Disappointed.

The business/money stuff feels really dumb to me at this point. The one thing I did think was interesting was Kendall getting that call from the Skarsgård character about how he is never going to spend more and he'll walk away if they push him, and then immediately concluding they need to push him for more money. It's a toss up to me whether this is just the petulance of a child who gets mad when anyone tells him "no more cake" and, being a privileged baby who was minded by paid nannies instead of parents, is used to ultimately getting what he wants, OR if this is him displaying his dad's killer instinct and realizing that if this guy is worried enough to call, maybe that means he's at some disadvantage that can be exploited. Or maybe both are somehow true and the takeaway will be that being a demanding, entitled baby is actually the secret to success at this level. Or maybe they'll lose both the Gojo deal and, as a result, the Pierce deal, and be humiliated. I don't know but I thought that was the most interesting thing that happened in the episode, was Kendall taking that call outside on the stairs and then deciding to hear Stewy out.

+1
I also found it intriguing that Kendall almost immediately decided to indeed, push the Swede for more money, even after being told he would walk away if that happened. I think the bolded is what occurred to Kendall. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I wish there was at least one more story line - something besides the incessant money chatter. It really gets old for me.

I have no personal opinion on this, if only because I am bored by the dealmaking storylines and tend to tune out, but I’ve seen an opposite theory that Kendall wants to push for more SO THAT the Swedish guy will walk away. The kids seemed to have buyer’s remorse for the Pearce deal once they came down from the high of beating their dad, and losing the funds from the Swedish deal could be a way out.

But that would humiliate them?

Congrats on getting your betrayal cherry popped.

I will take you apart like a human string cheese.

This is like if homework was a show.

I'm a plant that grows on rocks and lives off insects that die inside of me.

-thank you to PPs for explaining where the show is with the business deals. I have watched all seasons but I honestly find the business details a little boring so I tune out.

This was a great family dynamics episode. I've been re-watching Season 2 with my oldest kid and it's a great review of the Pierce deal and why the kids getting Pierce now is such a big coup.

Really great stuff with Connor. Sad, but he seems to have the best sense of his position in the family even if he doesn't have the psychological strength to break away from it. The siblings being late to the rehearsal and then spending his wedding eve on business/fighting with their dad while he's a spectator in his own life was just really sad. I didn't know what to take from Willa being home and in bed when Connor thought she might have left him. she seems to have some level of affection for Connor. I wonder if they will turn out happy after all.

I also am predicting a twist - Marcia is most definitely not shopping in Milan forever.

Love all the quotes: thank you!

remind me when this one was - This is like if homework was a show.

When Kendall proposed international news segments, rotating through various global spots.

Africa, specifically

Yep, a network that showed just 24 hrs a day news re Africa.

I believe Logan had Connor's mother sent the "booby hatch" so he could basically get rid of her and marry his second wife (Kendall, Shiv and Roman's mother). They said that Logan ignored Connor, since childhood, and he didn't have his mother around or another full sibling. His quasi loyalty to his father, Logan, is sad.

Then he basically is paying his prostitute to marry him. I like Willa's character. She probably never wanted to be an escort, and find herself the gravy train of clients. In the first season the other three siblings used to make fun of Willa but they've stopped doing that. She seems to blend in now pretty well. Poor Connor just wants someone to love him, even if it means paying for it. I felt terrible for him.

I pity Connor too - what a childhood. However, I in the first episode this season, I couldn't stop laughing as he described to Willa his ideal wedding. Can't remember all the details, but it sounded horrifically tacky and all in service of his "presidential candidacy," which is hilarious in its own right.

Why did Stewy and that daughter show up? What's the vote for? I want to watch family dynamics and their extravagant lifestyles, not be confused for a whole episode about business stuff.

Did you watch last season?

It's a little confusing, but those things were all covered last season.

I thought the show was loosely based on Murdoch and Fox? Has it ever been rumored he or his sons dated female “assistants” before they were put on TV?

Logan’s speech on the ATN floor is based on Murdoch doing the same thing at WSJ (even stood on boxes of paper).
