It will be interesting to see how well they predicted their yields. They probably have these declines built into their estimates but time will tell.
I don’t know if I could ever send my children totally boarding school regardless of how good it is even if it was 100% free. No judgments I get the benefits it’s just not for me in particular.

Accepting: Wootton High School - Humanities Program
Why would you bother applying only to end up your local school?
NP. It is a MoCo magnet program.
Troll.
There's no magnet at that school. I do know at least 2 kids who turned down privates for actual magnets.

I’m not the person who declined the “elite” schools for public, but a quick google search answered the question. This is a program offered by Wootton that you have to apply and be accepted into.
So perhaps they applied bc they wanted options if they didn’t get into this program.
Why do you all feel the need to judge what other people are doing? If this poster wanted to apply to all the schools and decline them, they could have. Perhaps the people the met at the schools were a big turnoff. Perhaps they realized financially it was a waste of money for them. Perhaps they did it as safety. The reactions to this person turning down the big schools feels as if it comes from a place of jealousy.
