Some programs are recruiting kids in middle school. Do you not think the Sidwell kids were recruited?

I know their top 3 players are lifers (i think one was like 4th grade) including their 4-star senior. I know of 1, maybe 2 kids (that are not top 5) that could be considered recruited.

Speaking of, congrats on one of their best girls committing to UCLA yesterday where she will join Kiki.

Gillus didn’t arrive until middle school.

Congrats to Sidwell. I’ve heard that STA is stepping their program up, as well. They should use Sidwell as an example because they really have grown into a powerhouse.

Doubt the top players will want to go to a school that is requiring 3 hours per day of homework. They usually spend too much time training

Not true. There is a lot of home grown talent on the SFS basketball team.

The sad truth is there is a trend for the top players to be more concerned with their AAU teams and less with their HS teams. Of course driven by AAU coaches and tournament directors who insist AAU showcase gives better exposure to players. It is terrible. Kids should put HS experience first. All this is to say if a kid is good enough, HS ball won’t be enough and the AAU grind will keep happening. But St John’s has a great coach

Don’t feel bad. They were very fortunate to be in the championship. They developed a large enough lead against St John’s, that St John’s just didn’t have enough time to recover in the semifinals. They ended their season very well.
