I don’t know what they do in their spare time. We don’t hold hands and sing kumbaya. They come, work, and leave. We don’t talk much.

The same with my coworkers. I may know them for years, but I don’t know what they do in their spare time. The one coworker who told me he smokes weed on regular basis, never smells like it at work. So no, I bet you would not be able to tell looking at a group of people who uses drugs, who has alcohol addiction, etc. Don’t kid yourself. I would not know about the neighbors either if they didn’t tell me.

Agree, and I also agree that I don't care if my cleaning lady is high as long as she still does the job well. I agree with OP's cleaning lady that it is racist because the neighbor is using Mexicans as a scapegoat when it was probably the daughter who smoked and got caught and blamed it on the cleaning ladies. Completely unrelated to this specific incident of OP's -- who are you people on this thread saying you don't care if service providers come to your house high, or after smoking (or anything else) in their cars on the way to you? They are accidents waiting to happen as they drive to your home. Why do you believe it's fine for anyone to be smoking weed while, or just before, driving? It's driving under the influence. You don't care if someone is out there driving high? Again, not saying these cleaners were smoking etc. Don't know and there's no way to know now anyway. My issue is with PPs not caring if someone's driving to work for you while high. JFC, show some thought for other people on the road.

As for people saying that they must be doing something wrong if they’re afraid of cops, I’m going to assume that y’all aren’t brown or black. If you don’t think that POC have more to fear from cops than Caucasian people, you really were either born yesterday, or too stupid for words.

You don’t know their full reasoning for not coming back. That said, not coming back because they don’t trust your neighbor not to call the police on them doesn’t mean they are guilty of something. Many minorities have very valid reasons to fear the police even if they have done nothing wrong.
