we are vrbo owners in Rehoboth. We go a lot in the of season. We have a dog though and love all the walks/hike we can do there. Seawitch was the end of Oct that was awesome. Shellville Christmas is fun to go to with kids, they do a Christmas parade…….

And I call BS on being fully booked. I have two sons that play tournaments at 'sports at the beach' several times a year during off-season and we always have our pick of the litter for houses. The week before last there were something like 200 different houses available.

I never said we were fully booked. We were booked all summer and most weekends in Sept and Oct. We slow dogs so get the off season dog people. I was there Sea witch weekend and did the Thompson Island Trail. Another Hiking trail we like is Burtons Island. It’s by the bridge between Dewey and Bethany. The Lewes/Rehoboth bike trail is also behind our Condo so I walk that a lot. It’s in the woods and gravel so feels like a hike.

I had a bad Air BNB experience in Puerto Rico. I cleaned the apartment before I left, only for the owner to tell me that an unused sugar packet was left in the garbage and therefore that meant I didn’t take the garbage out (when I did) and that there were small stains on the fabric of two dining room chairs that they would have to get insurance to pay for.

So what’s the freaking cleaning fee for? After I swept, did dishes, wiped tables, took the garbage out, etc….I still get berated for not leaving it brand new? I won’t be staying in another Air BNB again. Too many restrictions, and you have to be practically invisible to use it.

Back to hotels. Turns out they weren’t so bad after all and are now more flexible than ever.

Nope, not likely go back to renting from Airbnb due to stuff mentioned previously, especially the creepy indoor cameras (and the ones you don’t know about).

actually I invite these improvements, we have a no chore checkout, and we charge exactly what our cleaning company charges, so this will change nothing for us.

When is the last time you were there in the off-season? Lots of year-round restaurants, shopping, etc.

OP, you didn't even get bookings for Sea Witch?

I own a home there but we very rarely go in the off season. It's.... boring.

Right, which is why I only stay in hotels again. Often much more comfortable, a better deal for your $$, and you get more than one roll of toilet paper. Plus someone else to make your bed. AirBnBs have been a scam for several years now, but I’m glad the consumer market is finally catching on.

This is awesome. The last place I stayed in wanted the entire house cleaned, even before the cleaning service. Yeah, sure.
