Where are you getting that she's living off the life insurance? There's NO way Kane left that to her. It's 100% all to the girls, I bet you, and I'm sure it was set up by his high-priced legal team so that the disbursements have to be closely monitored.

I mean, my uncle had that done and he wasn't even well-off like Kane and didn't have fancy lawyers, either. He just knew that there needed to be safeguards in place so that his exwife didn't blow through the money that went to his kids after he found out he had terminal cancer.

I think the issue is with the ad stipulations. Ads must be worked into a podcast between a certain timeframe and advertisers pay different amounts for placement during different times of the podcast. It's a whole formula. Some smart people figured out the optimal time period of when people are most honed in and really listening to a podcast. That time is usually in the middle; people are usually listening while doing something else by the middle of the podcast (working, driving, cooking, etc.) and therefore unable to easily skip through the ads so they have to listen. The cost of ad space in a middle of a podcast is so much higher than at the beginning or end, which are the most skipped time periods.

What Sarah doesn't do that other heavy-topic podcasters do is take a pause. I'm assuming she probably self-edits and maybe isn't great at it, ha. Other podcasts, like those on true crime, will say something like "okay, and now let's take a pause and clean our palates" and then the ad will play.

But also, Natasha originally brought Skittles home but he nipped at her son. He asked the "nanny" if she could watch the dog at Kanes while he was still in the hospital. Then Kane's dad watched the dog when he was in town with him at the hospital. Natasha didn't feel she could take Skittles and give him/her the attention it needed at first b/c the girls were going through so much trauma, and she was busy helping cleaning out Kane's house. So she asked John if he could temporarily watch the dog. Once things settled (a few months), Natasha talked to a dog trainer for tips on how to handle the dog nipping situation. They suggested her son start meeting up with Skittles at a park, when she asked John to schedule he didnt respond at first and then said she needed to ask Kane's dad. Kanes dad said he was responsible for the dogs actions since he was responsible for the "estate" and recently found out the dog also nipped at the nanny's grandchild. he was worried he would be liable if the dog hurt natashas son, so did not allow her to take the dog back.

Both Sarah and Natasha talked about more this time about taking the good from what they got from Peter, while at the same time being relieved they don't have to live in his torment/drama. I have to say I relate to this, as the child of an addict who passed away. You're relieve to be off the never ending train wreck but hold close the good things about them.

This episode was more structured and you could tell Sarah was trying not to interrupt as much but she definitely needs to work on her editing, particularly when it comes to the commercials. There's no smooth break/transitions and it cuts off the conversation. Anyhow,
they're thinking about doing more podcasts together (riding the high of how well the first 2 shows went). I'll say although this one was more cohesive, and I'm admittedly a Kane drama addict, I'm done after this one. There was discussion about addiction/recovery and stigma for women/moms, hints that Kane's co-stars did things to Natasha that she hasn't forgiven yet, and detail about why Kane's dad decided IJ should keep Skittles (makes sense but sad for the girls). She talked a little about her second marriage, but mostly just how they are positively handling co-parenting since they saw how damaging the co-parenting with Kane was.
