Pounds slowly crept back on in my mid 30's. At 39 I was almost back to where I started. I made a pact with myself I would get healthy again by my 40th birthday and I lost 85 lb again that year. Now I am 49 and the highest weight I have ever been. Started spiraling down in May of 2020 after sitting on my couch for 3 months during Covid and returning to in person work as a school nurse in a very needy low income school district. I put myself last and more weight piled on.
I finally found a new primary care doctor and went yesterday for a visit due to some abdominal pain for the past few weeks. My BP was 160/90 and my weight is out of control. I am having labs drawn today and abdominal ultrasound next week. I guarantee I have fatty liver at this point, possible type 2 diabetes and will have to start blood pressure meds. I am scared, angry that it got so bad, overwhelmed...but determined to make my health a priority and move more and get back to a healthy place.

I worked really hard this week and not only budged that last pound to get to my 50lb goal, but knocked off another too! 51lbs gone. 128 today. Over 28% of my body weight gone. My resting heart rate has decreased 9 bpm, my watch says my cardio fitness has increased 8 points since I started this journey. I haven’t built my running back up since I had Covid and my asthma has been bothering which I think is an annoying lingering effect of Covid, but hopefully that will go away again.
So now I reset the goal again to 125. I was probably 15 the last time I weighed in the 120s.

Congrats! Can you share your diet?

I weighed over 250 lbs a year and a half ago and now I almost 100 pounds lighter. No drugs, no crazy exercise besides walking, just regulating my diet and sticking to it even through the hard times. You have done this before and you can do it again! You can. Good luck!

I already worked out a lot and barely drink alcohol so trimming 20 pounds really has to come down to diet. The first few pounds came off quick but I've been stuck at 155-156 for a solid week now, despite religiously sticking to the WW plan - I almost never hit the daily point allocations although I'm eating "enough" - eggs, salmon, fat free greek yogurt, fruit, vegetables. Have totally eliminated all sweets and most processed foods (I'll have a multigrain english muffin or whole wheat tortilla every now and then).
Trying to stay positive, knowing that I'm eating healthier than I was before and I WILL see the results. I'd like to add more strength/weight training into my routine.
7lbs in 3 weeks is a lot! It will keep coming off
