Mine either. I’m convinced the same 30 post on DCUM.
Actually, you might be on to something here. At first, I thought that the policy is uniform across FCPS. Which school or school pyramid are you in? We are in Robinson pyramid and kids are required to carry laptops back home every day to charge them. I would be curious to know how widespread this policy is.

So we should go right to the school admin or the regional principal if we have concerns regarding overuse of laptops/screen time?

You can, but they will still encourage use. It’ll fall on deaf ears.

I am getting concerned with all the reports of kids being on laptops all day. I thought we were done with that after the year schools were closed. If this becomes an issue, who is the person to go to?
I did just sign up for the lightspeed report so I can monitor the screentime.

My kid said they logged in yesterday and today used it for 20 mins to research something for an assignment. This is 6th grade. Honestly, I am fine with my kid using tech as long as they are not on it all day.
I teach third grade. Our grade level doesn’t plan on having them log in until next week at the earliest. After that they won’t be using their laptops daily. They didn’t last year. It will vary.
Why do 3rd graders need to be on laptops at all? These kids missed 1/3rd of K, all of a normal forsr
Grade
and had tons of covid disruptions last year and probably too much laptop time. Let them have one normal year of quality education.
Totally agree. And they didn’t get a chance to learn to write properly with pen and paper. The last thing my son needs is more screen time.
If they're going to copy something off a website, forcing them to write it out by hand rather than simply cut and paste would be more beneficial for their penmanship in grades k-3.
Have you seen the handwriting for current 6th graders? Its terrible. These are kids who did no writing for school for the last third of 3rd grade, all of 4th grade, and then some spent most of 5th on their laptops. Every kid should be writing by hand, for penmanship AND because it is proven to help the brain remember.
