This is what happens when you send the message out to the world that the US has open borders and you won't be deported if you try to come. It just emboldens illegal aliens to keep coming and keep taking risks that end up killing people. Shame on Biden and the Democrats for failing to understand the basic concept of moral hazard.

The cartels run our borders under the Biden presidency.
We will only see more incidents like this unless and until Biden decides that his border policies are a liability for him and the Democratic party.
Because that is what it will take. I am convinced that his policies are intentional and that he wants more illegal immigration. But, if he sees it as a liability, he MAY change course.

The only leader that has taken accountability is Nayib Bukele of El Salvador who stepped up after that horrible accident where the father and his daughter drowned in the Rio Grande trying to cross. Bukele made it a point to say publicly that El Salvador is at fault for driving them to migrate.

All contact with any level of government should require proof of citizenship or residency. If you take away the ability to easily work and live without documents, a lot of this goes away.
What social welfare benefits do you think people who don't have status in the US are getting?
Free education for their children for one.
Free education that includes free or reduced breakfast and lunch, free glasses, free medical care in school nurses office, free special ed services if needed, opportunity to go to college or tech school on scholarship, etc.
And let’s be clear that all of these ‘free’ benefits are free to the undocumented immigrants. But they are paid for by taxpayers. Usually that means middle-class and working class individuals, since the wealthy know how to avoid taxes and the poor can get tax relief and tax credits.
You want to know why the middle class here in the US is being squeezed? This is one of the many reasons. Our taxes continue to rise to subsidize these social programs for millions and millions of undocumented immigrants.
NP but I do think this is one of the reasons the GOP will take the house in the midterms. People, whether correct or not, see the democrats taking better care of undocumented immigrants than their own citizens.
Correct or not?
It is actually very correct.

Abbott is so f’ing incompetent.
I completely agree. He made big publicity about pulling Texas Rangers and assigning them to the border and they let this happen. He assumed the responsibility so it rests on him.
Nice try.
The border is unfortunately under control of the federal government. This is on Biden and his totally inept administration.
The Texas Rangers can only be assigned to areas of the border that are under state or local control. This fake tractor trailer came through at a border crossing, which is under federal control.
Since Biden has proven incapable of securing the border, Governor Abbott is implementing new truck check points. He shouldn't have to do this... because, again, it is the role of the federal government.
Abbott and the bozos…I mean Texas Ranger did not stop one truck load of illegals last time. Not much chance of doing this time. They are all on the take down that way including the governor.
