When there is a virtual monopoly on something people are dependent on, this is what happens.
On the "good old days" those babies would just be dead.
When demand is minuscule, customers exist for 1-2 years only, and countries don’t shut down and tell everyone to stay home, yes there can be one supplier in each region.

When there is only one manufacturer, there is a monopoly and will than manufacturer fails, its an issue. Capitalism doesn't handle these situations well.
Capitalism is the only reason your thyroid medication exists in the first place.
But I agree there should be limits.
That is not true. Non-profit research universities are actually responsible. So is the free sharing of scientific knowledge. Profit and capitalism only burdens scientific discovery with patents, secrecy and manipulation in the name of profit.
Lol.
Laugh all you want but it is irrefutable that capitalism brought us global ecosystem destruction and climate change. Har dee har har so funny.

Rampant since the pandemic or in general?

What do emerging markets or undeveloped countries who do have $100 per carton speciality formula fee their babies?
Those babies die.
+1
Apparently American babies who are not aborted are expendable to dcum.
Even wanted babies with loving parents are on the chopping block to dcum. It’s sick.
This is the politics forum. I still don’t fully understand why it’s in this forum, because there is not a political solution to this problem.
They are blaming Biden, that's why. This time for not being socialist in this one situation. Apparently, also, they think he can just nod his head and wiggle his nose and conjure up baby formula out of thin air.
Maybe those two babies should have not died while on that formula causing a recall.
