There’s a reason that, of all the developments in this area, mt prospect and amalyn are always on the first page of this forum — it’s the TB reps acting as though they’re buyers and finding ways to bump the threads. And then getting super defensive whenever anyone calls them out or criticizes the developments.
I am a real buyer. It’s so odd that if someone is excited about their new home, the immediate response is to say they are a fake. Lots of people are looking for communities like Amalyn because they want a place with families, kids running around, a community clubhouse, etc. Our family looked at a ton of houses for a year before we finally decided on Amalyn. We think it’s going to be great!
We just secured our lot at Amalyn... guess we'll be neighbors!
That’s awesome! Looking forward to meeting you soon. I have met a few of our future neighbors and some families we already know from pre-school. I think it’s going to be a great neighborhood. Congrats on your purchase!!

I grew up in a amazing school district but “border jumpers”
Started to drive our taxes up, schools got crowded and ratings fell.
All at once individual houses sent massive amount of kids to schools. My old neighbor with two kids loved to 95 and sent two kids to HS for total of eight years of cost.
Newer neighbor would jump on an out for schools, multicultural housing, illegal housing, kids using grandmas address all at once that same house would have 2-3 kids on HS every year for the next 95 years.
So that is not sustainable. I don’t have solution.
But one town near my old town banned mc mansions, required rental licenses, banned two kitchens, banned bedrooms on basement to keep it one family per house. MoCo costs $20,000 per student to tax payers. Little divorced Suzie uses Moms address her three kids is a $60,000 bill each year.
My neighbors house is a reveal I see school kids coming and going since I moved here. People rent runs kids through HS and leave
Cut back on the adderall -- you're all over the place and you seem particularly unhinged and decidedly hateful.

Anonymous wrote:So much bad information out there. The community wanted MCPS to open up the Grosvenor school as a new school. MCPS said no, not enough need.
MCPS did their usual delays, and did a couple of joint capacity and site selections with BCC ESs and WJ ESs, and solved the BCC ES overcrowding, and did nothing to relieve overcrowding at WJ WS (Ashburton ES).
In the meantime, nothing's been done for overcrowding at WJ ESs, and Ashburton remains significantly overcrowded.
