Most of the provinces were in the process of lifting restrictions anyway. All were more or less waiting to see the results of the Omicron wave an peak on hospitalizations and ICU bed use, especially after the holidays and kids returning to school.
That's not true. Canada has been INSANELY locked down compared to even extreme parts of the US (like DC). That's why there is such widespread support for the truckers.

Has nothing to do with policy. The anti-vaxxers and anti-mandaters are prolonging the pandemic. They are overwhelming our healthcare system and driving healthcare worker burnout. They are contributed to the supply chain disruptions. They are putting a huge burden on the economy.
