Sure, that's why the Big 3 have such amazing SN programs and such a high portion of students living in poverty.
Obviously private schools aren’t inclusive. What a weird comment. The topic is public schools that have a mission to serve all kids and build our community. It’s such a shame that public schools are going to suffer under Youngkin.
DP. We know you're crossing your fingers and hoping this comes to be. So disgusting. Youngkin is a breath of fresh air who I think will be great for VA.
No. People who actually care about their public schools and community DO NOT want vouchers. Rs send their kids to private schools so they DGAF if they kill public schools in the process of getting private school subsidized.
Uh, no. I’m an “R” and my kids attend public school - along with many other children of “R” parents. We’re not talking about vouchers here - we’re talking about PUBLIC charter schools. Educate yourself.

All of the wealthy parents will use vouchers to subsidize their private education. It will do little to support lower-income students. So the rich kids will be off to privates/religious schools while the poor kids are left behind in schools with significantly less funding. It will be a death spiral for public schools.
And Nate Bailey was DeVos’ freakin’ chief of staff.

This is what the Youngkin voters support - DeVos-style religious nut jobs who want to implement vouchers. If you look at how that’s played out in Michigan, Indiana, etc - that is bad news for public schools. Good news for private schools.
The question is - is that what you really wanted?
No answer on this yet...
Do we want school choice? Absolutely. How dumb are you that you have to even ask the question? That's a huge reason we voted for Youngkin.
DP
Yes, we know that the GOP wants to defund public schools to subsidize private school for their kids. They DGAF if they drive public schools into the ground.
The question is do the "first time R voters" realize that is what they supported by voting for Youngkin?
It's amusing that you think you are smarter and more savvy than a "first time R voter." With every post, you're just making a bigger fool of yourself. Your grapes really are sour, aren't they?
Well, are you a “first time R voter”? Do you support vouchers? Do you understand what they do to public schools? Show us those big brains.

The covid pandemic was unprecedented in terms of scale.
In 1918-19, this area was mostly rural farmland. It wasn’t affected like urban areas of the time.
Our schools boards have never dealt with something like this before. And they were cautious. So some parents got angry. And then they acted irrationally.
So you can't learn anything from history, because this area was farmlands? That's your argument? Urban areas aren't a uniquely modern invention of the last 10 years.
Like I said...our schools boards have never dealt with something like this on this scale before. And they were cautious. So some parents got angry. And then those parents acted irrationally.
As long as the FCDC and its proxies keep claiming that parents acted "irrationally," Democrats will keep losing contests in Virginia. I'd expect a big turnover on the FCPS School Board in 2023. The current members are widely despised for their incompetence and hypocrisy.
Interestingly, the more progressive Democrats have wasted little time in savaging McAuliffe for the campaign he ran. At least they admit their candidate was terrible, even if their solution - to nominate candidates further to the left - may not prove successful. The School Board proxies in the Democratic ranks, on the other hand, just keep burying their heads further into the sand.

Gaslighting is their forte. They actually excel at one thing.
Oh look. Another person who isn't familiar with the interwebs.
Plenty of people saw parents throwing tantrums last year. And then voting irrationally in November.
Yes - plenty of Democrats threw tantrums when people wouldn't comply with their wishes - and still continue to do so. And not voting the way you insist =/= "voting irrationally." You are not somehow "rational" while those with a different POV are "irrational." Sorry to disappoint.
"Comply with their wishes"? WTF are you talking about?![]()
People voting GOP "for the first time" just because they were mad at schools and "wanted to send a message" were irrational.
People voting GOP because they support the GOP platform (vouchers) just means they are run-of the-mill GOP losers.
I see you're doubling-down on calling people "irrational" when they choose to vote for Republicans. Or "losers". Either way, I will so enjoy 2024. Have a great night!

The local Democrat School Boards have done anything but create a culture in which public schools serve our communities. Instead, they serve teachers’ organizations, fringe groups, and the personal agendas of corrupt, hypocritical SB members. I can’t wait for Youngkin to unleash reforms that make these people eat sh*t.

Astro-turfing is a thing PP. Whether it's happened in DCUM, no on can say. You do have posters who sound very, very similar. Like same talking points, same catch phrases/adjectives, same responses to any criticism (e.g., like calling people imbeciles). I don't think they are paid Russians, just bored ass housewives who are on this website too often trying to stir stuff up![]()
