The only time I don’t pick people up is if they get a rental car of course. Definitely help them pick the best airport. We are lucky to have three in the area.

I guess it depends on how able he is. Remember too that sometimes older folks that are are on medications have different times of day when they are more lucid. My mom can navigate much midday into evening, but struggles in the morning. Traffic isn’t bad right now. It’s still lighter with many working from home. At most you’ll be navigating holiday shoppers.

DP. I usually pick up my siblings or parents at the airport, but they are courteous enough to ask me whether the flight works for my schedule and if it doesn’t, find their own way to our house. When I fly to visit my sister with 3 kids, I absolutely do not expect her or BIL to pick me up. If it’s a good time for them and they insist, I’m appreciative, but I definitely do not expect it. I can pay for an Uber or taxi just fine.

I don’t consider the transportation to the airport, the flight, and the transportation to my house as part of the visit. That’s just the transportation to start the visit, which yes, we all appreciate.

Many people are unfamiliar with it. Not everyone lives in areas with public transportation.

Traditional taxis are ridiculously easy. There are signs to get there and typically someone to tell you which taxi to get into when you are outside.
