I promise you that theres enough busy body moms out there that are just looking for things like this.

What if they moved the following year to a school district that had a different school year and then when off the new school district? Would this be o.k.? For immigrant kids would we go off their home country's school district or the first school district that they used when they went to U.S. schools? Would the USSF need to maintain a database of school district age cutoffs globally for every year and track changes so clubs could check to determine what age group to put kids in? If the child switches grades does this have to be reported or will they need to have their grade recertified every year? Would tax forms and associated social security numbers be needed to prove proof of residence for toddlers because most don't have IDs with residential addresses? I don't see what could go wrong with such a brilliant idea.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:The downside is it would promote redshirting in soccer. As it is my kid has several kids on her team older than her. But a year lower grade.
SY+30/60 with a 9/1 cutoff specifically does not allow redshirting. Unless the player was born 30 or 60 days before 9/1. In this case its not really redshirting because if the kid grew up in a different part of America with an 8/1 or even 7/1 start date that is the grade they would be in school.

League play and nationals will be 8/1.
U19 will also be grad year from what I’m told.
My buddy is a lawyer and works as a consultant for USSF. So he gets details on some of this stuff.
I’ve been calling my shots since the beginning.
Hate it or love it it is what it is.
Beginning August 2025?

Hey "shotcaller"
SY+30 with a 9/1 cutoff is the same thing as an 8/1 cutoff.
Theres all kinds of things that can happen
It’s not the same. +30 or +60 is playing down at the next 12-month cutoff of kids , why are you being so obtuse? Showcases can be an argument for potentially, but regular season no.
If anything SY+30 is a 13 month window. SY+60 is a 14 month window. But only for school districts that start before 9/1.
Theres not much you can do with all the different school start dates. Theres 3 options do a single date and start late which means trapped players on the top end or start really and theres players the wrong grade playing down. Or something like SY+30/60

So you and i both have a august 2011 kid. Your kid went to school on time and is starting 9th grade, I decided to hold my kid back and she is going to be in 8th grade Do you think it would be fair to your kid for my kid to get a waiver to play a year down because i chose to start my kid a year late. Thats what the plus 60 people want.
Not not playing down its playing with your grade if your district starts 30 or 60 days before 9/1.
You dont understand.
