And both are from an ECNL club. Players don't have to be in a MLS Next Club to be picked up.

Where are they heading? Just another proof point about how people with kids that are at the level try to avoid DCU if it is possible and realistic for hem.

know the families, dcu was not interested went to trail with austin fc. local kids are reaching out to academies outside of dmv

DCU wasn't interested but another academy was.
I thought stuff like that was normal and happens everywhere all the time on every level?

only a big deal for the anti-dcua drama queens on dcum

Players have been invited to another ID session that’s next week. Some kids’ offers have already gone in January and February, but this seems to be a continuous process with offers until roster is set.

Last year DCU had an open ID session. Does anyone know if they did that this year?

No announcement on social media so no. There’s another thread on an invite only session though. Presumably if you are already on an MLSNext team or P2P club, you’d have gotten an invite if they were interested.

I don't think there are "final" offers per se. They make initial offers to families of kids they are sure they want, the families accept or not, if they don't accept they move to another family. This process continues until the roster fills. That could be now or a month from now. But usually done by at latest summer or end of season for sure.

When this happens, does the academy have to pay DCU since the players are in their region, yet invested $0 on these players? With the rules as they are, DCU have rights to these players when DCU gave nothing to them.

DCU doesn’t have carte Blanche rights. A kid actually has to be in their system for a time in order for them to get anything out of it.
