Intellectual capacities and emotional capacities are two separate developmental tracks. Healthy people don't have huge gaps in the two but lots of people do have some gaps. And the high intellect actually makes for a mind that can defend with more complex, elaborate defenses that actually may not serve a person. Lots of disturbed "geniuses" out there as we all know. She certainly is slow to learn and or take counsel. That's her grandiosity and omnipotence in play. She's got a web of magical thinking in that mind that reminds me of what you see in scientologists. (Not surprised her father was one, because she resembles the character one sees there). Lots of omnipotent belief in her powers, operates like there are no limits in life, believes in herself as the controller (of herself and other people) and demanding and oppositional when challenged. Hugely entitled. I've said it before and I'll say it again: She's a female Tom Cruise. He's superficially more charming, and friendlier to the general public. Her facade has had more frequent cracks. But a similar psychology.
I think she’s smarter than Tom. At least her relationships are all advantageous.
Ojani Noa was born in Cuba and spoke Spanish. At the time, she wanted to win the role of a lifetime Selena but she didn’t know any Spanish. Marrying Ojani (even though he was a waiter) helped her (probably in her mind) prepare for that role.
Then, she wanted a music career. She knew she couldn’t sing but she could dance and since she is from the Bronx so she needed a hip hop makeover Ala In Living Color. Who better for that than Diddy? He branded her J Lo and helped her get her clothing and perfume lines together and she admitted he gave her great advice about doing all the genres together (Pop, Latin, dance R&B/hip hop). Her first album On the 6 is still regarded as her best one by fans. Waiting for Tonight, Let’s get Loud, and If you had my Love were number 1 songs establishing her as a debut pop star at the rare age of 30.
Then, she wanted to erase the scandal of the arrest so she chose nice boy Cris to marry and distract the press .
Then, she wanted to marry Ben to cement her Hwood romance delusions and power couple fantasy .
After Hwood chewed and spit her out bashing Gigli and cut her scenes out from the movie Jersey Girl, she thought she was getting blacklisted so she ran away from Hwood and into Latin music star Marc Anthony’s arms to try to reinvent once again .
I see the vision with all her relationships so I don’t think she’s stupid.
But she is very rash when it comes to jumping into new relationships and marriages . I think she’s too enamored with the role of J Lo and keeping up appearances that even this movie and album about Ben seems like she’s trying to play a role rather than actually live her life as a married woman as Jane Fonda said.
