Going back over 100 years to show inflation is wrong.

1982: $1.28 ($3.90 inflation-adjusted)
1992: $1.19 ($2.48 inflation-adjusted)
2002: $1.44 ($2.34 inflation-adjusted)
2012: $3.70 ($4.69 inflation-adjusted)
2021: $3.13 ($3.44 inflation-adjusted)
2022 national average 4.96

I would think eased down is more appropriate with a 19 cent drop from that level.

Because it didn’t go up $2.50 in a span of two weeks?

This actually is seasonal maintenance performed every summer. The only question is whether if Russia will actually turn it back on at the end of the 2 wks.

I’m not a liar. DCUM posters are too stupid to know the difference between two separate towns in CA: One named Montecito and one named Mendocino.

The old lady in Mendocino regularly charges $4+ more per gallon than the state average. She does that because she's the only gas station in a small, expensive tourist town. Someone else should open a gas station in Mendocino! They will probably be treated like a hero.

"Goes up $2.50 per gallon?" Clearly you must be referring to when gas prices imploded at the height of the pandemic in 2020. That was a temporary anomaly due to extremely low demand.

And gas prices were not at all "normally" $2.50 lower than they are now - not since the mid 1990s.

So please check your dishonest hyperbole at the door.

The AP has a Center rating on allsides.com, which rates media bias. Let's look up your news sources and see their rating.

Oh, and here's the article from AP withthe photo you posted. Why don't you actually read it for a more balanced approach to the issue of rising gas prices?

Somewhere between a bizarre stunt by a crank and price gouging, but not a real price reflective of the market.
