lol. Because Michigan AYSO is exactly where we expect the official announcement to be released. No offense but c'mon ppl. Look at all this insanity. When there is something to know, we'll all know it at the same time. Just chill. ECNL hasn't been unclear about what's coming so you can either look into the chicken bones or you can just listen to the podcast. Change is coming. Details are on the way. Lower level leagues will probably screw up the rollout and try to satisfy everyone. In the process making everyone crazy. We know how this goes...

Was told today by ECNL director
No RL/ECNL/US club players can play GA starting next season and clubs will be in violation and risk being kicked out.

Also starting next year Jan 26 ECNL/RL teams will be given flexibility season to roster up to 4 Aug to Dec players that will also be eligible to compete at nationals.

What a load of baloney.

1st ECNL has no say over GA rules
2nd Your ECNL kid can play on GA teams no issue.

Your director is just trying to scare you from playing on GA teams.

ECNL allows GA players to play on their teams via the Discovery program and GA allows ECNL players to play on their teams. However once rostered you can only play a certain number of games before you must commit to being full time on that team.

You don’t read well do you. ECNL will NOT allow it anymore. They are trying to weaken GA. They do not want their players pumping up the Ga platform.

Any ECNL/rl club with players who break the rule will risk being kicked out and the club losing its status.

ECNL can say whatever they want.

They dont define GA rules.

Your club director is trying to scare you from checking out and playing on GA teams. They dont own your kid you can play wherever you want.

You’re a slow fella.
They aren’t defining GA rules? They are cracking down on players and clubs who break ECNL rules.

Well fella show me the rule that states that ECNL players carded by US Club cant also play GA and be carded by USSSA.

Also please inform me exactly how this rule will be policed considering that US Club and USSSA are completely independent of each other and do not work together in any way.

Or your club director is trying to scare parents into not checking out GA. (Wonder why?)

GA Team A uses 3 ecnl players GA team B loses and knows this and reports them to ECNL that these players are playing in the Ga league. I don’t think the ECNL umbrella clubs will risk their standing in ECNL so players can play Ga.

So youre suggesting that ECNL has put together some kind of internal team to field complaints from (not sure who) and action on them?

Or ECNL doesn't care if players play for GA. But, club owners do care if ECNL players play for GA clubs because they lose money. To address this your club owners have told your club director to scare parents by saying that they'll be kicked out of ECNL (the local club) if they play GA. (Unless of course the player is a superstar and is famous or scores goals at will.)

Do you understand yet? Its not ECNL cracking down on players playing for GA. Its your own club being greedy and saying if you play for anyone else we'll kick you out and likely try to keep all the money youve paid for the season.

ECNL is going to send something formal out to their clubs that if players on RL/NL rosters are playing for GA then there will be consequences for those clubs and players. That’s the deterrent enough for them.

What people do doesn’t matter to me.

I doubt it because that would show weakness + ECNL acknowledging that GA is a threat.

Well regardless that’s going to suck because my daughter plays at an RL club and plays with Ga also.

For the 25/26 season there is also a new rule that a fully rostered GA player can no longer play for an ECNL team either. Multiple high level kids were trying to do both in certain areas so it sounds like they are cracking down on it from both sides.

Big showdowns coming.

Everyone will want to be on the Playoff teams... No reason to pay for non playoff clubs as they are money pits.

You’re wrong there. No one will want to pay for non playoff Ga teams. The majority of people will continue to pay for girls ECNL teams playoffs or not.

If things true and GA doesn’t have some giant plan to reveal this will kill GA from a top league standpoint.

I think it’s underestimated how many players from other leagues guest play for GA teams at showcases or nationals.

Obviously there are some talented put together teams but in my experience as a GA parent and ECNL parent girls at both clubs. GA needs guest players to be competitive ECNL does not.

Since when has GA been considered a top league?

Here is your answer ECNL ignorant:
https://public.totalglobalsports.com/public/event/3787/college-list

No need to fight with the willfully ignorant. GA numbers speak for themselves.
- Over 330 college coaches attended
- Over 230 colleges attended

How many events to get those numbers and how many kids actually got recruited? Once ECNL stops allowing its players to help GA teams the league will be a 3rd tier league.

Q: How many events to get those numbers and how many kids actually got recruited?
A: This is for playoffs an event that happens every year

Q: how many kids actually got recruited?
A: Coaches dont shop at events for players they have a list of players that have reached out that have expressed interest that they'll review. But if youre looking for recruitment numbers GA posts it every year on their website. ECNL used to do this but stopped. (Wonder why?)

You are delusional if you think ECNL telling its players not to play for GA teams means anything. Players will play where ever they want. If ECNL chooses to cut off their nose to spite their face by running some kind of blacklist of players that play GA it just makes ECNL look weak and scared of GA.

Get the numbers for D1 schools in attendance for national's.
That list looks like 90% D2/3/JC schools.
You don’t need to play GA to goto a school like that I think they take anyone who can get in to their schools and afford the tuition.

Sorry your kid isn’t good enough to play ECNL.

(I’m not sorry)

There is one ECNL team in our state - they suck. One of the worst ECNL clubs in the country. Players that get cut from the GA and even USYS clubs play there. What is the flex for playing for them? They don't have the top team in the state at any age group - at most age groups not in the Top 5. They are not being watched at these showcases. Keep drinking the koolaid and buying the hats.

This is just a random troll that stops by every once in a while to say negative things about GA.

Meanwhile his kids ECNL team loses to GA USYS teams on the regular.

Lol you caught me…. My kids team doesn’t even play GA teams? Why would we waste our time when there’s real competition to be played.

GA isn’t a 2nd tier league for girls. That’s a known fact.
Doesn’t mean it’s a bad league just not the Top league.

Great so many coaches show up to the event but how kids get actual scholarships is the real question? Not how many commit how many get scholarships.

I attended GA playoffs and then went down to watch ECNL playoffs. It is very clear that ECNL top teams, on average, were significantly “better” than the GA clubs. BUT, what I noticed is that ECNL plays a different brand of soccer than GA. GA does seem to be more skill based with more playing out of the back, connecting double digit passes, etc. While ECNL could just out athlete any of the top GA teams. Very rarely did I see any of the top teams connect more than 3-4 passes. Goal kick to midfield, win a header, pass to wing who runs really fast and tries to beat defender. The GA teams were more about playing out of the back, look to mid or up the side, back to outside back or CB who switches field, and off they go the other direction. More maybe Spanish style than American style, but I am far from an expert.

That’s assuming the top ECNL players can’t play that way which they definitely can. But when you have the horses use them.

GA lack of talent compared to ECNL you need to play possession because you don’t have as many D1 power conference athletes up top to send the ball too.

That doesn’t mean they are better at possession it just means that’s the only way for most of the teams to play effective soccer.

I was also at GA nationals and there are definitely some great players in the GA league.

The “because I dont doesnt mean I cant” routine is probably not true. If you play kickball for 6 years and forego technical aspects I am not sure you can just “switch” styles on a whim. Not knocking the style but to say they could do it better than the teams that have been doing it for 6 years is probably not true. Some of the Spanish teams at ECNL were passing around some of the highly ranked teams fairly easily. They didnt always win because their opponent had a 4.2 40yard wing who could beat anyone to goal.

College coaches love them some athletes with speed they can teach them the rest.
Don’t want slower possession players unfortunately.

College coaches dont want to teach players anything. If you think this youre wrong.

Shows how ignorant you’re. The biggest running joke in soccer is you can’t teach speed. College coaches love them and athletic fast ECNL player.

They definitely can teach them how to play possession. Although most colleges are athletic kickball anyways.

If this was true why go though all the effort of recruiting players that have the skills that coaches need to play they way they want.

College coaches play direct with big and fast because they have a huge pool of players to choose from that changes every year. Its the fastest way to field the most likely to win team. Also college rules favor direct play with rules like infinite subs.

College coaches do not want to teach players how to play. Their practices are mostly about finding the right combination of players.
