The city does have responsibility to provide adequate facilities for public schools, and DPR is part of city government.
That's not how agencies work. By that logic, MPD should provide security, the CTO should provide the tech, and DDoT should handle the busing..
That's not how any of this works
I think you're intentionally missing the point. DC as a while has responsibilities to it's residents and to it's taxpayers. Providing athletic responsibilities to private schools is not among those overarching resonsibilities. Providing facilities to it's public schools is.
I think you're the one that is obtuse. Per the PP above, DC public schools come in 3rd under DPR's priorities.
Did I mention DPR? The constant spin is getting really outrageous.
I don't care about Hardy and I don't care about Maret. I care about how my tax dollars are being spent. The Maret deal.costs us taxpayers a significant amount of money and all I see is Market boosters demanding more. I just don't see the benefit to the city. I see the benefit to Maret though.
Heck, I'd support Maret on this if there was any indication that they actually did us a favor. But all I can see is favors going the other way. We borrowed money to buy a property on the open market and then immediately handed over the usage rights to Maret for a cut rate price.
If you don't care about Hardy, and you just want the highest financial return on your taxes, then you're not talking about DPR. Sounds like you want jelleff transferred to another agency.

Sounds to me like a lot of Hardy PTO privilege getting frustrated. If it doesn't work the way the want, th system MUST be broken
You're like a Trump supporter. There is nothing that can be said, any logic or fact that can be offered to help you see, understand or acknowledge that what has happened here with the extension of the easement agreement is shady at best and both ignored and limited public input. Maret's arguments are just all over the place, trying desperately to do ANYTHING, say ANYTHING to deflect and cast attention elsewhere. Try and make Hardy the enemy, try and lecture everyone on the need for more green space, bemoan Maret's difficulty in competing with other independents if they don't have Jelleff field, cry and whine that people are saying mean things about Maret, spew on about how wonderful Maret is and how it does so much good, how contracts are contracts, whatever. All your arguments are hollow and reveal an absolute lack of any self-awareness or decency. It's so crazy that Maret is digging in on this. I used to think of Maret as that fancy school near the zoo where are the Democrats' kids go...no real opinion, but a generally positive image based on nothing, Children of privilege from generally nice families. Now, for me, its reputation will forever be marred, just as George Huguely did for Landon and Kavanaugh did for Georgetown Prep. Maret is now that sham school, that talks the talk about community and responsibility and integrity, but when it came down to it, but wouldn't walk the walk. Lawsuit now, please.

Name calling? Yeah Trump never does that.
Reneging on previous agreements and burning the governments credibility? Are you sure your talking about the right side?
