My daughter played for him for several years. He's a raging a'hole. Uses derogatory language, speaks poorly about the girls to one another, trashes anyone who leaves his team. He runs "Club Gus" and is not a team player with other coaches. Took my daughter a few months to get her confidence back after he took hers completely away from her. If you're one of his favorites it isn't quite as bad but his favorites change often so you're never safe.
Does he push a particular style of play? What sort of players does he prefer? What are his practices like?
He likes defense and that's what he focuses on. The offense is pretty typical kickball style. His practices are garbage, he repeats the same handful of drills.

2nd on this. Also trying wondering if anyone knows if she would be bailing on GFR now or after the spring season is over?
I doubt that she would bail on her own mid-year. It would be very unprofessional. But also a fair question if GFR would want her to stay if she is truly involved with the new endeavor.

If a coach is engaging and teaching the kids while making them feel welcome, open lines of communication who cares who the ED is?
You can't tell me there aren't good coaches at GFR even when Rich was running the show. My kid had a new coach last year and he was in his last year of travel soccer and he absolutely loved his coach.
the only people who care who the ED is are the people who have nothing better to do then get involved in caring about the daily operations of the club which is like 2% of the parents. most of us just care who our coach is and that the club is relatively affordable and therefore we are perfectly happy at gfr.
also think most don’t care ED and just if player follows a coach (and teammates) if they leave or stays because didn’t like coach or prefer convenience of fields
From posts here doesn’t sound automatic that entire teams would move to new club if FA, GD and HM go
