I estimate there was about 120+ girls there.

The confusing part is there were girls that stood out in the tryout that did not get an invite. And girls that did not seem to do much but got an invite.

Its all of the above. There were over 100 kids at the tryout. Impossible to evaluate.

They key is, don't underread into any of it, who made it or didn't make it.

Literally the worst player on my oldest team made it a few years ago. B team backups make it over A team starters, it happens. And yes, parents with connections can get their kid on the team.

Most rosters for AS were posted 10-14 days after the tryout.

It's sounding like we have a repeat of last year.

I know of at least one email invite that went out for AS so I think selection is starting.

Seemed like the evaluators were in the top bleachers the entire time and only watching one of the 3 fields.

Info of who is in/out of AS is going around. It will be fascinating to see the final rosters.

Maryland United East rolled in about halfway through the tryout, after winning the NGLL national title. Dedication!

The coaches dont select the team. AS gets independent evaluators that select the team. The coaches were not even there at the tryouts. They try to make the selection process independent of club affiliation.

It will be interesting to see how many they take from each team. With the M&D and Coppermine coaches coaching, we should expect to see a heavy presence from those two teams. Did many MDU girls show up after their championship game? Were there many from other top clubs like Heros, BLC and Skywalkers? It seems the roster would need a variety of teams represented at least by a player or two.

They kept the 6s style just due to the sheer volume.
