Gonzaga is banged up. Those guys must have taken all of the Covid downtime to do NOTHING.

Or at least a new coaching philosophy that gives other guys a shot when the 15 or so “core “ guys fail to produce.

When was the last time GZ lost to PVI, SJC, and DM in the same season?

Is Dematha better than expected, GZ worse, or little of column A little of column B?

I’m not sure why Bullis and GZ were ranked so high earlier in the season. They both have a couple of studs but not the depth of Prep.

Bullis had a very strong pre-season ranking as several of their senior stars place on the 2021 DC Express team.

In my opinion, too much of an emphasis is placed on what club programs these kids play on and historical high school team performance from the previous year.

Bullis had little depth this year and it showed, but they are very well coached.

Gonzaga was just average this year. They shouldn't even be in the top 100 this year.

GZ is recruiting left and right for football to "keep up with the Jones"... the head football coach has national ranking aspirations and the BOARD is behind this.

GP still recruits for football but its a fraction of the scale of what GZ does now.

GZ beats Prep by three TDS, and Prep would go on to beat all the rest of the teams it plays. With the exception of GZ, Dematha, SJC and GC, I would have put Prep up against just about anyone in the DMV area, including top publics.

Love the parity in high level HS lax. It makes things so interesting, the days of long term domination by any one program are over.

GZ also has double the kids, which I would guess has a more significant impact on football than on other sports. But as this is a lax board, GP should mop up GZ if they do end up playing.

SJC used to do the same with Calvert Hall for football since both were Christian Brother schools. Not sure if they do it for lacrosse on a regular basis. They do play each other fairly consistently

This is a lax board - yes Prep and GZ play lacrosse every year and in recent years St John's as well
